Microsoft Shows Love To America's Heroes

" Microsoft announced Tuesday that they are in the process of shipping out Xbox 360 consoles along with copies of Halo 3 and Madden NFL 08 to USO centers around the world so that our soldiers can have fun during their downtime between their real Life or Death Missions. The associated press has reported that soldiers stationed in Iraq are already kicking some Covenant behind. Service members will also have access to Xbox Live, so they will be able to talk to their loved ones through the online service as well. Microsoft also announced Tuesday that they will be making contributions to America Supports You, an organization that helps members of our Armed Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan connect with support organizations in the United States." -- Excerpt from Ninjaen.com

How great is this? Video games are a creature comfort from home that I'm sure thousands of young men and women miss when they are on the other side of the world, doing what they do best... Kicking A$$ and keeping us free and safe!

I'm sure this gesture is greatly appreciated, and I'm happy to hear that Microsoft is giving a little back to our finest!

I'll have to do some research and see if any charities or organizations are accepting used or new games to donate to the troops. If I find any, I'll be sure to post info right here if anyone would like to contribute.

"Son, I think you should stay away from the Johnson's house this year..."

Killer Pumpkin

Textually Active ;-)

What once was considered a chore has now become such a part of my daily routine, that I don't even realize I am doing. Text messaging via my cell phone has become my second form of blinking. I know I blink regularly, but I don't think about it often. And have you ever tried to not blink? (Go ahead...I'll wait while you try.)Ha! You can't do it!

Texting has become my newest involuntary muscle reaction. If I had to guess-timate, I would figure 30-40 text messages a day escape from my fingertips. I mostly send my digital correspondences to my GF Rachel. (GF is short for Girlfriend...something I learned while texting.) Because we communicate this way, and she doesn't have to put up with my voice so much more than she wants to, we are still together. It's so much easier to yell at someone or apologize this way. Cut straight through the hassle...

Anyway, as I emptied out my Full Inbox for what had to be the 3rd time in as many days, I was struck my this simple fact: text messaging has made life so much easier for me, as I'm sure it has for millions. And for anyone who knows me, making life easier for me, only makes life better for everyone...less chance I'll screw up royally!

Be good!
